What a solar plant without a contract gets paid: the hourly marginal cost of the Argentine wholesale market, hour by hour and in dollars, with no floor and no cap (Res. SE 400/2025).
A solar plant is paid the price of the hours in which it produces, not the day's average: at midday every solar plant injects at once, cheap energy is in surplus and the marginal cost drops right when they sell. Over the last year that has not shown up yet: it was paid USD 3.2 more than the average, because midday is also a high-demand hour. Over the last 30 days it was already paid USD 2.0 less.

Weighted by each month's solar output, Nov 2025 to Oct 2026: USD 84/MWh. Without May to August: USD 55/MWh.
This is how the project memo computes it: each month's solar price weighted by what a fixed-tilt plant produces that month (high in summer, low in winter). The weights are an estimate, not a measured figure. Solar hours with zero marginal cost over the last year: 1.6 % (72 hours).
Data: CAMMESA, operated hourly marginal cost for the Market area, public service pub-svc (costoMarginal), 10/18/2025 to 10/19/2026, converted to dollars at the BCRA wholesale A 3500 rate of each day. History up to the seed date comes from the memo's download; today and yesterday are requested from the service every hour. CAMMESA does not return 11/10/2025 (service error); that day is left blank. Solar hours: 07 to 19 h, weighted with a bell centred at 13 h. The node loss factor and the 80/20 blend of Res. 400 are not included. The reference PPA (USD 55–60) comes from the project memo and the press: CAMMESA does not publish MATER prices.
